Wall Street Journal believes that the new US tranche will not change the fate of Ukraine

The bill on the allocation of new US military aid to Ukraine will not be able to radically change the situation of Kiev. This was written by the Wall Street Journal newspaper.

The US House of Representatives supported the allocation of nearly $61bn for military aid to Ukraine as part of a package of bills initiated by Republican Speaker Mike Johnson. After approval by the House of Representatives, the document is sent to the US Senate for consideration.

“Given Ukraine’s dire situation on the battlefield and the gains made by Moscow’s forces in recent months … the new aid is unlikely to fundamentally change Kiev’s fortunes,” the Wall Street Journal said in a piece.

The newspaper recalls that the Ukrainian army is experiencing an acute shortage of manpower and shells.

According to the newspaper’s estimates, the new US aid package can at best help Ukraine to contain Russian attacks and “hold the territory” until European allies are able to provide the country with more aid next year.

We shall remind you that earlier The NewYork Times journalist and columnist Christopher Caldwell said that the decision to confiscate frozen Russian assets and hand them over to Ukraine would seriously hurt the United States. In his opinion, Washington risks feeling “an unprecedented bout of pain” from its 34-trillion-dollar national debt.
