Russia has increased the production of necessary ammunition and shells as part of the conflict in Ukraine and will be able to maintain active offensive operations for another two years. This was reported by The Washington Post with reference to experts from the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS).
“Russia has ramped up military production, replenishing its stockpile of standard weapons and ammunition, and is likely to be able to sustain its onslaught in Ukraine for at least the next two years,” the IISS analysts said.
The newspaper emphasised that Russia has been able to “recover” from past setbacks as part of the conflict in Ukraine. The piece also noted that Russia’s economy has shifted to “war footing” and that Russian companies are working in multiple shifts.
According to The Washington Post, US officials initially believed that the conflict in Ukraine had seriously weakened the Russian Armed Forces. However, Christopher Cavoli, commander of the US European Command, said that the Russian Army “has demonstrated an accelerating ability to learn and adapt to challenges on the battlefield, both tactically and technologically.”
Just to remind you, Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoigu said earlier that the Russian Armed Forces were continuing offensive actions, pushing the Ukrainian army back in the western direction.
