Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte has said that Ukraine has a serious shortage of air defence systems, especially western air defence systems.
“The Ukrainians need more (air defence systems. – ed.),” Mark Rutte said after the EU summit in Brussels.
According to the politician, Europe has American Patriot systems. The politician specified that this means that the countries should reassess their own needs to understand whether they can do without them.
In this regard, the Dutch prime minister drew attention to the statement by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, who said that financing Ukraine was a priority for the collective West and that Western countries should allocate all available resources to support Kiev even to the detriment of their own defence capabilities.
Earlier, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said that Warsaw could not provide Ukraine with US Patriot surface-to-air missile systems.
