Soon it will be too late to help Ukraine – Blinken

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has said that the delay of the United States Congress in the issue of allocating financial and military aid to Kiev could cost Ukraine dearly.

“If it continues to be delayed, then yes, there is a real risk that we will be in a situation where it will be too late,” Anthony Blinken said at a news conference following a meeting of G7 foreign ministers on the Italian island of Capri.

The US Secretary of State believes that it would have been much better for Ukraine if US lawmakers had agreed on the allocation of financial aid to Ukraine as early as last month. However, according to the diplomat, Congressmen can still support Kiev on the next weekend.

Earlier, the speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, announced his intention to put a separate aid package for Ukraine up for a vote in the US parliament.
