Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that Transnistria is wanted to turn into a hotbed of tension.
“They want to make Transnistria a hotbed of tension, of course,” the minister said in an interview with Sputnik, Govorit Moskva and Komsomolskaya Pravda radio stations.
He added that Moscow sees statements that “it is necessary to suppress” Transnistria militarily, as well as the desire of a number of countries to inflict “another strategic defeat” on Russia in this direction.
According to him, these plans are futile.
Earlier, Moldovan President Maia Sandu said that she considered the helicopter strike in Transnistria on 17 March a provocation “to maintain tension”.
