Blinken did not comment on reports of an Israeli retaliatory strike on Iran

U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken made no comment on media reports of an Israeli retaliatory strike on Iranian territory.

The diplomat said this at a press conference following the meeting of foreign ministers of the G7 countries on the island of Capri.

“I will not say anything on the situation in the Middle East,” TASS quoted him as saying.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said at a meeting with Israeli Ambassador Simona Halperin that it was necessary for all parties to the conflict to show maximum restraint amid escalation in the Middle East.
