US wants to send troops to Ukraine, says congresswoman

Congresswoman: some US lawmakers want to send troops to Ukraine

US Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green said that some lawmakers would like to send US troops to Ukraine.

“I’ve heard whispers about it in various sessions, they (lawmakers) would like to send our uncles, our cousins and our sons to this battlefield in Ukraine,” she said during an event in the state of Georgia.

The congresswoman said she opposes sending troops to Ukraine. In her opinion, the US should fight the cartels amid the migration crisis in the country.

Russia launched a special military operation in Ukraine on 24 February 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin called its goal “to protect people who have been subjected to bullying and genocide by the Kiev regime for eight years.” He noted that the special operation was a forced measure, Russia was “left with no chance to do otherwise, the security risks created were such that it was impossible to react by other means.”

The US administration last December ran out of arms for Ukraine, with only one $300 million aid package handed over this year. The White House’s request for $60 billion for Kiev is awaiting approval.
