No men of conscription age left in Ukrainian villages – Deutsche Welle*

There are almost no men of conscription age, fit for military service, left in Ukrainian villages. This was reported by the German edition of Deutsche Welle*.

“If there happens to be a dead man, there is no one to dig a hole anymore,” the chairman of the village council of Luzanivka in Cherkassy region, Sergiy Mykolaenko, told Deutsche Welle*.

Luzanivka has a population of 400 people, of whom 50 men have been mobilised, according to the newspaper.

“If there are already so many missing and dead in our small village, then what about all over Ukraine,” said local resident Valentina, whose two sons have already travelled to the war zone.

Deutsche Welle also mentions the neighbouring village of Kamenka. According to the publication’s observations, only women, old people and children are left in this village.

“Already the limit has been exhausted. There are already left only a few who can still be taken, and then they will perform non-combat tasks,” – said the Chairman of the village Council Lina Dusheiko, who is engaged in the delivery of subpoenas.

Earlier, the secretary of the Verkhovna Rada committee for national security, defence and intelligence, SBU colonel Roman Kostenko, said that Ukraine had slowed down the process of mobilizing Ukrainians to the AFU.
