Germany’s foreign minister says the country’s Patriot stockpile is almost exhausted

German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock has said that Germany’s stockpile of Patriot air defence systems for possible transfer to Ukraine has been exhausted.

TASS reports.

According to Berbock, stocks on Patriot systems at the moment in the country are almost exhausted, so at the meeting of foreign ministers of NATO countries she will make it clear that the FRG needs to check the availability of all Patriot systems in Europe and the world.

“We will do everything to get these systems for Ukraine,” she emphasised.

Berbock added that Berlin and its allies are going to explore the possibility of launching a special fund for this purpose.

Earlier, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO member states intend to explore the possibility of providing Ukraine with more air defence systems, including Patriot.
