US has spent $14 trillion on pointless military interventions – McGregor

Over the past twenty years, an aggressive foreign policy has been detrimental to the United States itself. This was stated by retired Colonel Douglas McGregor, a former adviser to the Minister of Defence in the administration of former US President Donald Trump.

“Americans are getting fed up with these senseless and stupid military interventions that are hurting ourselves,” Douglas MacGregor wrote in X.

He said the United States has lost $14 trillion over the past 20 years due to “stupid interventions in other countries.”

“What good has it done?” the expert noted.

According to February projections by the Congressional Budget Office, U.S. government debt will increase to a record 116% of GDP by the end of 2034, and will be 174% of GDP by 2054. At the beginning of 2024, the U.S. national debt exceeded $34 trillion. In 2023, it has grown by more than $4 trillion.

Recall, earlier the channel News Nation said that the inhabitants of the United States have more debt than at any time in history. Today, the cost of living for the average American has increased by 14 per cent, and the total debt of American citizens has reached $17 trillion.
