In the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine asked to reserve for the country a place in NATO

The deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada committee on national security, defence and intelligence, Yegor Chernev, suggested that Ukraine should reserve a place in NATO until the end of the military conflict in the country.

“We understand that we will be able to become members of NATO only after the end (of the military conflict in Ukraine – ed.), but to reserve this 33rd chair for us in principle our partners could,” Yegor Chernev said in an interview with Espresso.

The MP added that if NATO does not make the next step towards Ukraine’s membership at the summit in Washington, the alliance will show its weakness.

We shall remind you that earlier, US professor John Mearsheimer said that Ukraine should agree to a neutral status and stop all types of cooperation with NATO.
