Secretary of State Blinken is confident that Kiev will “never fall into Russian hands”

The United States has guaranteed the Ukrainian authorities that Kiev “will never fall into Russian hands”, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said in an interview with French channel LCI.

The State Department chief was asked whether Washington could promise Kiev that it would not fall under Russian control.

“I am convinced that we have already done that. In other words, it’s not happening now and it will never happen,” Blinken replied.

The Kremlin has repeatedly noted that all the goals and objectives of the special operation in Ukraine will be fulfilled. As reported in Moscow, Russia’s goals are demilitarisation, denazification and ensuring the safety of people living in the new Russian regions.

At the same time, President Vladimir Putin reiterated openness to dialogue on Ukraine if Russia’s conditions are met and the current realities are taken into account.
