The speaker of the US House of Representatives, Mike Johnson, has said that the possibility of supporting Ukraine in the form of a loan or using proceeds from frozen Russian assets is being considered. This was reported by The Hill.
The politician said that further assistance to Ukraine in the form of a loan could “calm down” the Republicans who believe that the USA is doing “too much” for the country.
He also said the option of providing aid to Ukraine in the form of proceeds from frozen Russian assets was being discussed.
“The REPO Act, if we can use the seized assets of Russian oligarchs to allow Ukrainians to fight them (Russians – ed.), it’s just pure poetry”, – said Mike Johnson.
We shall remind you that earlier the French ambassador to Kiev, Gael Vesierre, said in an interview with France Info TV channel that France plans to change the form of military support for Ukraine.
