Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy should take into account the new geopolitical reality when discussing negotiations with Russia. The press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitriy Peskov, said this.
Dmitriy Peskov commented on Zelenskyy’s statement about a possible dialogue with Russia on the settlement of the military conflict in Ukraine.
“The geopolitical reality has changed dramatically since the beginning of the SWO, the borders of both Ukraine and the Russian Federation have changed. We have four new subjects and this cannot be disregarded, this is a new reality, which, of course, everyone will have to reckon with,” the Russian presidential spokesman told RIA Novosti.
In addition, the official representative of the foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova in comments to RIA Novosti suggested that the Ukrainian President touched on the topic of peace talks because he is nervous about the expiring term of office.
Earlier, the head of the State Council of the Republic of Crimea, Vladimir Konstantinov, said that Kiev would beg for peace talks in the near future, but the conditions put forward by Ukraine would not suit Russia.
