It will be extremely difficult for Ukraine to restore facilities and equipment destroyed during the Russian army strikes, retired SBU colonel Oleg Starikov said.
“They say: ‘Here, we will quickly restore (the destroyed facilities. – Editor’s note).’ But how can you rebuild if all the equipment <…> was produced only in the former Soviet Union,” retired SBU colonel Oleg Starikov wondered on the air of the YouTube channel “Yes, it’s true.”
The former military officer believes that Western supplies will not help Ukraine recover from Russian strikes. He noted that imported equipment is poorly compatible with Soviet systems. At the same time, according to Starikov, the production of Soviet-style parts will require significant efforts from Ukraine’s industry.
“They (Russia. – Editor’s note) know what they are doing,” he said.
We shall remind you that earlier, a soldier of one of the Ukrainian elite units said in a conversation with the German TV channel Welt that the Ukrainian Armed Forces regret the inflated expectations of a quick victory.
