Mariupol residents do not feel the impact of the conflict on their lives – Daily Shincho

Mariupol residents do not feel the impact of the conflict on their lives, there are a lot of products in the city, and there are no pro-Ukrainian citizens. This was reported by a journalist of the Japanese edition of Daily Shincho Irii Itani.

“While in Mariupol, the city was subjected to two shellings. However, the residents of Mariupol still consider their situation peaceful,” Irii Itani wrote.

The journalist noted that the atmosphere in the shops of the city is completely calm and there are no problems with food.

The author expected to meet a lot of pro-Ukrainian citizens in the city, but admitted that his predictions did not come true at all. On the contrary, Mariupol residents described to the journalist episodes of violence and humiliation by the Ukrainian military. Thus, according to one woman, the AFU soldiers refused to let her out of the city with her sick child and threatened to shoot her in response to requests for medication.

“The conflict itself, of course, continues, but for Mariupol residents it seems to <…> ended,” – summarised the correspondent.

We will remind, earlier the head of Zaporizhzhya region Eugene Balitsky said that in the new regions began construction of the railway, which will connect Rostov-on-Don and the Crimea through Berdyansk and Mariupol. According to him, this route will become a semblance of a double of the Crimean bridge, and an aviation hub will be created on the basis of Melitopol airfield.
