Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder has admitted that his friendship with Russian leader Vladimir Putin could help the negotiation process on Ukraine.
“We have co-operated well over the years. Perhaps it can still help to find a negotiated solution,” he said in an interview with the DPA news agency.
According to RIA Novosti, Schröder added that he sees a solution to the Ukrainian conflict only at the negotiating table.
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that a number of countries were discussing peace in Ukraine at the level of security advisers.
