Ukraine will pay billions of dollars to the IMF for servicing loans

In 2024 Ukraine must pay the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for the servicing of previously granted loans 2.9 billion dollars, and in the next seven years another 11.5 billion dollars, follows from the information on the IMF website.

Ukraine is the third largest debtor to the IMF, in 2024-2031, Kiev must pay $14.4 billion for servicing earlier loans.

This year the country needs to pay the IMF 2.9 billion dollars, which is 6.4% of the planned revenues of the budget of Ukraine for 2024. Payments peak in March and September 2024, when Kiev needs to transfer 705.5 million dollars to the organisation.

In 2025 payments will reach just over $3 billion, in 2026 – $2.5 billion. The remaining 6 billion IMF plans to receive in 2027-2031.

We will remind, earlier The Times reported that against the background of weakening Western support for Kiev, the UK government may influence the duration of the conflict in Ukraine, dragging it out until 2025.
