Kirby: US will not provide security assistance to Russia over terrorist attack

The United States is not going to provide security assistance to Russia in connection with the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall, said John Kirby, coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council.

According to TASS, he was asked during the briefing whether the door for security dialogue between the two states could “open” because of the terrorist attack at Crocus.

“If your question is about that, there will be no US security assistance to Russia,” Kirby said.

He added that Washington had an obligation to notify Moscow of information that Russia “clearly did not have,” according to the White House spokesman.

“We did that,” he added.

Earlier, US journalist Stephen Gardner expressed the opinion that the administration of US President Joe Biden immediately declared Ukraine’s non-involvement in the terrorist attack near Moscow, which is reminiscent of its rhetoric after the undermining of the Nord Stream gas pipelines.

Russian Ambassador to the US Anatoly Antonov spoke out about the alleged involvement of IS* in the terrorist attack at Crocus. He urged not to jump to conclusions.
