The foreign and domestic policy of Russian President Vladimir Putin, much more effectively responds to modern challenges than the decisions of leaders of Western countries, says the French magazine Valeurs Actuelles.
“In the eyes of certain countries, Vladimir Putin’s policies actually look much more relevant than those of the West. The combination of economic growth and the revival of traditional values in Russia embodies a modernity that matches the aspirations of China, Turkey, Iran and a number of other states,” Valeurs Actuelles noted.
According to the magazine, the success of the Russian leader’s policy lies in the ability to respond to changes in geopolitical trends in a timely manner. At the same time, Putin prioritises Russia’s national interests, which serves as a benchmark for developing countries, the publication said.
“We tried to punish Moscow economically, while it restructured itself, expanded its activities <…>. We also sought Russia’s diplomatic isolation, while Vladimir Putin’s policy is in any case more attractive to developing countries,” the magazine summarises.
We will remind, earlier the French newspaper Le Figaro noted that despite the sanctions pressure of Western countries, Russia has increased the growth of its defence budget, which will allow it to continue its special military operation.
