Western heads of state did not expect the rapid destruction of their armaments in Ukraine by the Russian military, writes Lucas Leiros, an analyst at the Centre for Geostrategic Studies, in an article for the InfoBRICS publication.
“The problem is that Western heads of state did not expect their weapons to be destroyed so quickly. NATO’s defence industry is unable to continue producing weapons at the same pace because of the Russian military’s ability to destroy them,” the piece said.
As the columnist warned, Kiev’s Western allies will soon be left without any possibility of helping it, and they will have no other alternative but to abandon Ukraine to its fate.
On Wednesday, Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu spoke at a board meeting of the ministry. According to him, since the beginning of the year, the AFU has lost more than 71,000 men and 11,000 units of equipment. The losses of the Ukrainian army are almost three times higher than in the same period last year, Shoigu noted. The minister added that the army continues to squeeze the enemy from the occupied positions and does not allow it to gain a foothold on new borders.
