Pentagon chief Austin calls aid to Ukraine a matter of US honour and security

Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin has said that providing aid to Ukraine is a matter of honour and security for the United States.

The US defence chief said this during a press conference after a meeting of Kiev’s allies at the Ramstein base in Germany, his words are quoted by Reuters.

Austin claims that at the moment “Ukraine’s survival is in danger” and US security is “at risk.”

He added that he is determined to continue to provide Ukraine with all the assistance it needs.

“And it’s a matter of survival and sovereignty for Ukraine, and it’s a matter of honour and security for America,” Austin said.

Earlier, Politico newspaper wrote that the Pentagon has still not received the funds intended to replenish the stocks of weapons transferred to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
