Rheinmetall Group plans to build military plants in Ukraine

German arms concern Rheinmetall has announced plans to open at least four factories in Ukraine. This was reported by France 24 TV channel.

Rheinmetall CEO Armin Papperger made a statement that the planned factories in Ukraine, which is experiencing a shortage of ammunition, will be designed to produce shells, military equipment, gunpowder and anti-aircraft weapons, according to France 24.

The company expects to build at least four factories in the former Soviet republic amid forecasts of record arms sales in 2024.

According to the published information, Rheinmetall concern is already managing a joint venture in Ukraine for the repair of military equipment. In addition, in the near future it plans to open a factory modeled on enterprises under construction in Germany.

Recall that the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, said that the Rheinmetall plant would become a legitimate target in Ukraine if it was built.
