German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius announced the preparation of a new military aid package for Ukraine worth 500 million euros.
A contact group meeting to support Ukraine was held today at the US Ramstein airbase in Germany.
“We have prepared another aid package for this meeting in Ramstein to the tune of about half a billion euros,” Boris Pistorius told reporters after discussing planned military aid deliveries to Kiev.
The arms deliveries will tentatively start in June and will be phased.
The next military aid package includes:
▪10,000 artillery shells from Bundeswehr arsenals.
▪100 units of armoured vehicles for infantry.
▪100 units of transport vehicles.
▪180 thousand artillery shells as part of a Czech initiative to purchase 800 thousand shells for the AFU.
“In addition, Germany signed a contract for [production – ed.] 100 thousand 155 mm ammunition,” – added the German Defence Minister.
We will remind, earlier German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius criticized the statement of French President Emmanuel Macron about the need to stop being afraid and start helping Ukraine, as well as his proposal to send troops there.
