Kiev intends to allocate more than 200 million dollars for the development of the Ukrainian language

The Ukrainian authorities intend to allocate 201 million dollars for the development of the state language in the country. This was reported by the publication “Glavkom”.

According to “Glavkom”, Kiev intends to continue to work on the improvement of the state language. The publication said that the authorities of the former Soviet republic intend to allocate more than 200 million dollars for the development of Ukrainian.

On 15 March, the Ukrainian Culture Ministry said that Kiev had approved a project created by the ministry to modernize the Ukrainian language by 2030. This programme is aimed at “overcoming the consequences of Russification”.

“The approximate amount of funding for the programme is 7.8 billion hryvnia (201 million dollars), of which the state budget covers 7.6 billion hryvnia (195.8 million dollars), 200 million hryvnia (about 5.2 million dollars) will come from local budgets”, – said “Glavcom”.

We shall remind you that earlier the head of the DNR, Denys Pushylin, said that no school in the region had not notified about the desire of children to learn the Ukrainian language.
