Peskov: Russia will not listen to US assessment of past elections

Russian leader’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow expresses its disagreement with the United States’ assessment of the Russian presidential election and is not ready to listen to it.

Earlier, a representative of the White House National Security Council said that Washington does not consider the past elections in Russia “neither free nor fair.”

Peskov stressed that Moscow categorically disagrees with such an assessment, adding that one should not have expected any other judgement from Washington.

“We categorically disagree with them, and this is probably not the kind of opinion we are ready to listen to and which is important for us these days,” he said.

Earlier, Russian ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said he would complain to US authorities about insufficient security at the diplomatic mission during the Russian presidential election.
