Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused Western countries of losing conscience and memory over calls for elections, the Financial Times reported.
Before a cabinet meeting on Sunday, Israel’s prime minister criticised the international community. In his opinion, they “have a bad memory” of the 7 October Hamas attack.
“Are you so quick to decide to deny Israel the right to defend itself against the Hamas monsters? Have you lost your conscience so quickly?” – Benjamin Netanyahu stated.
According to the politician, some Western representatives are making false accusations against Israel’s army, government and leadership.
“They are trying to get elections now, in the midst of the war. They do this because they know that now the elections will stop the war and paralyse the country for six months,” – said the Prime Minister of Israel.
Recall, earlier French President Emmanuel Macron said that the current round of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict has a long-term nature. According to him, for the complete neutralisation of Hamas, Israel will need about ten years.
