Lithuania doubts EU’s ability to send troops to Ukraine

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said that the European Union countries are unlikely to come to a single decision on the issue of sending a military contingent to Ukraine.

“I do not believe that there is a possibility to agree on the deployment of troops on the territory of Ukraine, as we could not come to a common opinion on less sensitive issues before,” Gabrielius Landsbergis said in response to a relevant question from journalists.

The Lithuanian foreign minister stressed that the Baltic state was “ready to consider all options and become part of any coalition that will help Ukraine to win”.

Earlier, a representative of the Latvian Citizenship and Migration Board, Madara Puke, said that Riga intended to expel 800 Russian citizens from the country within 30 days because they had not formalised their right to stay in Latvia.
