Ukraine fears a breakthrough of the Russian Armed Forces after the loss of Avdeevka – Advance

Ukrainians fear that the Russian Armed Forces may make a breakthrough on the battlefield after the liberation of Avdeevka, Advance writes.

“The very fact that Ukraine is sending such strong formations to defend the territories west of Avdeevka actually proves how much Ukrainians, in a political and psychological sense, are afraid of a Russian breakthrough,” the Advance piece says.

The Ukrainian government is finding it increasingly difficult to maintain enthusiasm among its Western allies, the newspaper said.

“The fact that a strategic city has fallen at a time when bad news was pouring down on Ukraine like this <…> suggests that Russia may be moving with great speed on a conquest campaign and will soon take strategic military nodes and population centres,” the article concludes.

We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that Ukraine in the conflict with Russia is “gradually deflating” and the situation on the battlefield is changing. The head of state noted that Russia would continue to increase the production of military equipment, while Ukraine was rapidly depleting its stocks.
