The Ukrainian armed forces won’t last long even after receiving a new aid package from the US – NYT

Ukraine’s armed forces will have to retreat even with the new $300 million US aid package, The New York Times reports.

“This is far from enough to meet Ukraine’s combat needs, and such a move will not help sufficiently fill the ammunition shortage,” The New York Times quoted the US president’s national security adviser, Jake Sullivan, as saying.

The authors of the material also emphasise that Ukraine will lose more territory if it does not receive a $60 billion aid package, which is delayed by the US Congress. The publication points out that these several hundred million dollars are trifles compared to previous multibillion-dollar US aid packages.

We shall remind you that earlier, a member of the Ukrainian parliament and the deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada committee for national security, defence and intelligence, Yegor Chernev, said in an interview with the New York Times that there is a growing fear in Ukraine that the army will soon start losing control over populated areas if Washington delays the allocation of new military aid to the Ukrainian government.
