Russia’s allies will retaliate against the West if troops are deployed to Ukraine – former French prime minister

Former French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin said on LCI TV channel that if NATO sends troops to Ukraine, Russia’s allies will strike a blow to the West.

“If we send troops [to Ukraine], we can’t be sure – won’t other countries enter the conflict on Russia’s side? Won’t we be confronted by African, Asian and Middle Eastern fighters? Won’t they be joined by countries in the global South who also want to settle scores with the West?” – Dominique de Villepin said.

He noted that Russia was not left alone with its rivals and Western countries were in fact more isolated.

“If Russia were isolated – we would see that. I think that we are actually more isolated than Russia,” – said the former Prime Minister of France.

We shall remind you that earlier a member of the Ukrainian parliament, deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada committee on national security, defence and intelligence Yegor Chernev in an interview with the New York Times said in an interview with the New York Times about the growing fear in Ukraine that the army will soon start losing control over populated areas if Washington delays the allocation of new military aid to the Ukrainian government.
