The crisis in Ukraine may acquire a European scale due to the rash actions of the West. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
Speaking at a briefing on 13 March, Zakharova said that only a halt in arms deliveries to Ukraine could prevent further escalation of the conflict.
“As a result of ill-considered provocative actions by even one or two EU or NATO member states, the Ukrainian crisis can absolutely quietly go beyond its geographical limits, acquire a different scale and develop uncontrollably,” the diplomat said.
Also during the briefing, Zakharova noted that the call by CIA chief William Burns for military assistance to Ukraine was an incitement to escalation.
