Warsaw will allocate about $30 million to organise shelters

Warsaw will allocate about $30 million to organise shelters as part of the Warsaw Protects programme, the city’s mayor Rafal Trzaskowski has announced.

“At the next budget session we will allocate 117 million zlotys (about $30 million) for it (the programme. – RT) in order to… make the most significant investments that will allow us to prepare for every situation,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

According to the politician, this primarily concerns the organisation of shelters, additional sources of energy, water and the creation of supplies.

Estonian authorities are considering making it mandatory for new residential and public buildings to have bomb shelters.

In September 2023, the head of the Romanian Interior Ministry’s emergency department, Raed Arafat, announced the construction of concrete bomb shelters for residents of villages bordering Ukraine across the Danube.
