Scholz ruled out supplying Kiev with long-range weapons systems

Germany will not provide Ukraine with long-range weapons systems, and the German military will not help the Ukrainian army with target selection and guidance. This was stated by Chancellor Olaf Scholz speaking before the Bundestag.

“For me, deliveries of long-range weapon systems are excluded, the meaning of which will only be if German servicemen are involved, including outside of Ukraine. This is a line that I as Chancellor do not want to cross,” Olaf Scholz said.

The chancellor clarified that this is about participating in decisions about “where to aim, where to shoot and what to hit.”

“This should not happen to German military personnel. I, as Chancellor, am responsible for preventing Germany’s involvement in this war”, – emphasised Scholz.

We will remind, earlier the Deputy Minister of defence of Poland Stanislav Wzentek said that Warsaw does not plan to send its military to Ukraine even for the purpose of training of the Ukrainian army. Romanian President Klaus Iohannis also spoke against sending the country’s servicemen to the Ukrainian territory.
