The US plans to increase military spending to $850bn in 2025

The White House has released a draft federal budget for the next fiscal year that indicates US military spending will increase to $850bn in 2025.

The document shows that the defence allocation is to be increased by 4.1% over FY 2023.

“The budget includes $850bn in discretionary budget authority for 2025, an increase of $34bn, or 4.1%, over the 2023 level,” the draft says.

As Bloomberg wrote, the Joe Biden administration plans to cut spending on F-35 fighter jets and Virginia-class nuclear submarines.
