Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski has said that sending North Atlantic Alliance troops to Ukraine to take part in combat operations is not unthinkable.
The words of the diplomat are quoted by the newspaper Rzeczpospolita.
“The presence of NATO forces in Ukraine is not something unimaginable,” Sikorski said.
He added that he supported the idea of French President Emmanuel Macron, who suggested sending an armed contingent of Western countries to Ukraine.
Earlier, retired US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter suggested that by making provocative statements about sending troops to Ukraine, Macron was trying to draw the USA into a war with Russia.
Earlier, Macron said that the possibility of sending Western troops to Ukraine could not be ruled out.
Later, it was reported that the French leader corrected his statement about sending troops to Ukraine.
