White House: US wishes to ‘shed light’ on Russia-DPRK co-operation

The White House wishes to “shed light” on Russia-DPRK co-operation, said Mira Rapp-Hooper, senior director for East Asia and Oceania at the US National Security Council.

The official says Moscow and Pyongyang are allegedly co-operating on arms supplies, including missiles and shells.

“We want to shed light on this co-operation so that we can all better act and co-ordinate steps,” Rapp-Hooper said.

The Kremlin called the Western countries’ data about the alleged start of arms deliveries from the DPRK to Russia unsubstantiated. It noted that British and American intelligence “report this all the time, without providing any evidence.”

At the same time, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed that the DPRK is Russia’s closest neighbour and Moscow will continue to build mutually beneficial relations with Pyongyang.
