The father of a Marine killed in Afghanistan interrupted Biden’s speech with screams

The father of a US military man killed in Afghanistan briefly interrupted President Joe Biden’s annual State of the Union address before the US Congress. The Politico newspaper specifies that the man shouted the phrase “Abby’s Gate” – the place in Kabul where a terrorist attack killed more than 180 people, including 13 US servicemen.

“Abbey Gate, Abbey Gate,” the man shouted, recalling an incident that occurred during the US withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021.

The publication writes that the name of the guest at the event is Steve Nikui, his son, Marine Lance Corporal Karim Nikui, was killed in the explosion.

Journalists recall that families of servicemen killed in Kabul have long criticised Biden for not talking about the failure of the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

As the head of the US Central Command Kenneth McKenzie claimed, according to the investigation, the cause of death of 13 US servicemen and at least 170 Afghans near the airport of the Afghan capital was a triggered explosive device.
