FT: the prospect of Taurus missiles being handed over to Ukraine has been thrown into further doubt

Germany’s expansion of military supplies to Ukraine has been thrown into doubt after the publication of talks by the German military about possible strikes on the Crimean bridge.

This is reported by the Financial Times.

As noted in the material, Moscow’s goal was to make sure that the Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz never changed his mind on the supply of long-range missiles Taurus to Kiev.

“Moscow managed to create the perfect political dilemma in Germany,” the newspaper quotes defence analyst Christian Melling of the German Council on Foreign Relations as saying.

It is also specified that Scholz has become the best piece on the chessboard of Russian leader Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, Politico newspaper wrote that the publication in Russia of intercepted conversations of German officers about a possible strike on the Crimean bridge with Taurus missiles split Western allies and discredited Scholz.

The Guardian quoted a British government spokesman as saying that the UK urged Germany to hand over Taurus missiles to Kiev despite the leaked conversation between Bundeswehr officers.
