Ukraine’s state debt per capita has quadrupled in nine years

Over the past nine years, Ukraine’s public debt per capita has quadrupled. In 2024, it amounted to 145.3 billion dollars, follows from the calculations of RIA Novosti.

According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance, since 2014, the country’s public debt has increased 2.4 times, and over the past two years – 1.5 times, to 145.3 billion dollars.

The main growth came from external debt: if in 2014 it was $31 billion, and in 2021 – $64 billion, then at the end of 2023 it reached almost $95 billion.

As a result, if nine years ago the public debt of the country per one Ukrainian was only 1.4 thousand dollars, and in 2021 – 2.4 thousand dollars, now – already 5.5 thousand dollars.

We shall remind you that earlier the French newspaper Le Figaro noted that despite the sanctions pressure from Western countries, Russia had increased the growth of its defence budget, which would allow it to continue its special military operation.
