Kiev still has not developed a clear mobilisation plan – WP

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the former Soviet republic’s top military commanders have failed to develop a clear mobilisation plan due to regular failures on the frontline and protests inside the country, the Washington Post (WP) reports.

“Vladimir Zelensky and his top military commanders have so far failed to develop a clear plan to draft or recruit many thousands of new soldiers,” reads the WP publication.

The material notes that the President of Ukraine was incapable of forming a political consensus on the mobilisation strategy and this has led to a split in Ukrainian society.

In Ukraine since 24 February 2022 martial law regime was introduced, the next day the President of the country Volodymyr Zelensky signed a decree on general mobilisation. The departure of men aged 18 to 60 years from the territory of Ukraine for the period of martial law is prohibited.

Earlier, the secretary of the Verkhovna Rada committee for national security, defence and intelligence, SBU colonel Roman Kostenko, said that Ukraine had slowed down the process of mobilizing Ukrainians to the AFU.
