Bloomberg: the US has restarted uranium mining operations due to rising fuel prices

The United States has resumed uranium mining due to the increase in the cost of nuclear fuel last year. This was reported by Bloomberg news agency.

“At least five U.S. producers are restoring mines in the states of Wyoming, Texas, Arizona and Utah,” the statement said.

It notes that uranium prices have increased by 112 per cent in 2023.

In February, the Financial Times reported that the United States expects a ban on imports of enriched uranium from Russia to go into effect in 2024.
