Lavrov: Russia will act in a mirror-like manner if the West confiscates assets

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has stressed that Russia intends to act individually in each specific case of confiscation of its frozen assets by Western countries.

The diplomat said this during a press conference at the end of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum.

“We will act mirroringly, we will act in each specific case,” the minister emphasised.

Earlier, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said that the freezing of sovereign Russian assets is an uncalculated step on the part of Western countries and the decisions to seize these assets, if taken, will cause great damage to Western companies.

French Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire reported that there was no legal basis for the seizure of Russian assets.
