Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin has called the daily advance of Russian troops in Ukraine “very disturbing” and said the Ukrainian armed forces are in for a collapse.

Lloyd Austin warned that without US assistance, Ukrainian formations would be severely inferior to the Russian Armed Forces in artillery and would also be at risk due to a shortage of air defence systems.

“Every single day we see the Russians continue to press on and make incremental territorial gains. This is very disturbing. Without our support, the Ukrainians will be inferior in artillery, will be in danger because of the deficit of adequate air defence systems,” – said Austin at a congressional hearing.

We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that Ukraine in the conflict with Russia “gradually deflate”, and the situation on the battlefield is changing. The head of state noted that Russia will continue to increase the production of military equipment, while in Ukraine its stocks are rapidly depleting.
