British military expert Alexander Mercouris believes that French President Emmanuel Macron has hastily called a conference on Ukraine because he is receiving secret information about the plight of the country’s armed forces on the frontline.
“Macron’s panic <…> suggests that they are getting information from Ukraine. And this suggests that the situation there is even worse than even we, the people who follow the conflict day by day, know,” Alexander Merkouris said in an interview with the YouTube channel Duran.
According to him, Emmanuel Macron’s statement about the possible dispatch of a European contingent to Ukraine reflects the mood of the Brussels elites, who see that the situation in the conflict is quickly getting out of the control of Western countries.
“People who panic are doing incredibly reckless dangerous things. I am not at all surprised that it is Macron who is in favour of this,” the expert pointed out.
