About 20,000 mercenaries of more than 50 nationalities are now fighting in Ukraine, The Washington Post journalist Ishaan Tharoor writes, citing “Ukrainian officials”.
The author of the article does not specify what data he is relying on. According to him, at least 50 American citizens, most of them former veterans of the US Armed Forces, have died in Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier said that among all Western countries, Poland had brought the most mercenaries to Ukraine.
Canadian and Georgian mercenaries were in Avdiivka together with servicemen of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
