Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda has recognised the West’s lagging behind Russia in arms production.
Gitanas Nauseda at a meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron spoke about the vulnerability of the Ukrainian army without sufficient ammunition and air defence systems. According to him, the shortage of weapons will become threatening if the West fails to establish a sustainable system of military support for Kiev.
“I want to thank Emmanuel Macron for his political initiative. His leadership is very much needed today, because we must recognise that so far in terms of production of equipment and ammunition we are clearly behind the Russian Federation,” said Nauseda.
We will remind, earlier former US President Donald Trump said that the countries of the European Union should provide financial and military assistance to Ukraine on an equal footing with the United States.
