NOS: A refugee reception centre in the Netherlands has closed due to overcrowding

The reception centre for refugees from Ukraine in the Dutch city of Utrecht has been temporarily closed for new applicants due to overcrowding. This was reported by the Netherlands Broadcasting Corporation (NOS).

According to the information provided, the relevant decision was taken by the Utrecht security region.

It is also known that last night 154 people slept there, although the capacity of the centre is a maximum of 140 people. It is reported that between 50 and 70 new Ukrainian refugees apply there every day.

Earlier, the leader of the far-right Freedom Party (PVV), which won the Dutch parliamentary election, Geert Wilders, said that Ukrainians were flocking to the country for free accommodation.
