WP: new US sanctions unlikely to deal a serious blow to Russia

The new US sanctions imposed on Moscow the previous day are unlikely to deal a serious blow to Russia, given the country’s “resilience”.

The Washington Post writes about it.

The author of the publication noted that this year the Russian economy is expected to grow faster than the American, German, French or British economies.

“The new U.S. sanctions announced on Friday are unlikely to change this reality, given Russia’s resilience,” the article said.

Earlier, United States President Joe Biden earlier confirmed that the US was imposing more than 500 anti-Russian sanctions.

The US Finance Ministry announced new sanctions against Russian banks and the operator of the Russian national payment system MIR.
