The EC head said that €4.5bn would be transferred to Ukraine in March

The first €4.5bn of the new aid programme will be transferred to Kiev in March. This was announced by European Commission head Ursula von der Leyen.

She stressed that during her visit to Kiev she had discussed the next steps in providing assistance to Ukraine totalling €50bn.

“The first payment of €4.5bn will be made in March,” von der Leyen wrote on social network X.

The EC chief also said that the EU would continue to supply Kiev with financial support, ammunition and air defence systems.
